This has been the year of many faces!
Things have happened to me and my family that has been difficult to handle.
But we have come through!
And we are starting to feel stronger.
I can say with my hand on my heart that I have managed through all the difficult days because of many of you "guys".
I have never in my whole life met so much support !!!

Thank you so much!!!

I'll be on "blog-vacation" from now on, but hope to be back stronger than ever next year!

I'm moving on !!!

And now I've made a new page and had some cleaning-up-business on some of the other ones. Not finished yet, but if you want to see what is on my needles now, take a look at the sidebar, choose : OTH ( On The Needles).

Well, that's me now. My mommy died on monday. Yes, I'm writing mommy, because I feel just like a little girl again. She meant SO much to me, even if she the last years was dement and couldn't have a normal conversation. She still was my mommy.

She passed away monday morning, and I was sitting on her bedside last weekend and sometimes talking about the past days, those days we lived in Chicago.

And because of this pain I have had/have, I have been knitting and knitting and knitting. All the time, while I was sitting there and in the car and when I came home again and almost all nights. And this is a peek of some of it :

It's been a long time! I have been on vacation . Driving around our beautiful country and meeting new, wonderful people, like Kate and her daughter, Helene, in Trondheim, an unexpected but very nice experience !

I have been knitting all summer, but as usual, there are some things I have given away before taking pictures.....typical of me... But I do have SOME things to show you !

I've finally translated another of my patterns !!!

Yes...now it's happened, I've gone totally mad ! I've joined another group !!!
Tour de France Knit-along (in Norway). Yes, ME, and I've NEVER seen ONE single round. But I do believe my son-in-law will be pleased with me, because I believe he has seen EVERY single one ! And I'm going to knit this shawl,  "Summer in Kansas"
 
But I HAVE been doing something today and yesterday.
I have made stitchmarkers, and have had a great time doing so ! Here you see the hole lot in one picture. I've put pictures under "Stitchmarkers" in the sidebar-section if you want to have a close-up :-)

I really don't know why I'm so slow..... I seem to have glue in mey head, hands and feet.....

But I AM working on things every single day, I just don't manage to tell about them and take pictures !

I've been busy this last week with doctors and with visits from my children/grandchildren, so I haven't been up to the great projects. My daughters girlfriend has born a beautiful little girl last week and she is of course entitled to get a self-designed jacket :-)

I recieved a great gift from Frida on Iceland the other day! I made some Dpn-protectors and she sent me this beautiful case filled sith icelandic yarn, a candle and a needle for shawls ! Ain't I lucky !!!!

Today is the day I'll get something done in here !! Some new pictures. I'm not slow....ok, maybe a little bit... But I have some things to show you guys!

I'm writing patterns every day now, and enjoying myself. And one day I might even get them on the net or.....

I have to show you what was in my mailbox today ! Two lovely books written by Nicki Epstein, I have been looking at them for a loooong time, and recieved them as a present today :-) Hjertegarn is "payment", I made some "treethings" to a danish friend of mine in "Webstrik", Katrine ( to use on DPN's on there ends). And last, but not least, Mini-Opals, AREN'T THEY BEAUTIFUL????? I can't possibly knit anything of them ? I put a shein of normal sized Opal beside them so you can see how tiny they are !!

Sorry, had problems posting pictures today, but if you wish just follow the link "here" and you will find them, ecspesially the mini-Opals, they were SOOOOOOOO cute !!!

And by now you KNOW I'm crazy, so, YES, I DID have to buy this yarn and start knitting these for the football event that's coming up....

I've also started Ene's scarf that I am knitting along with the Amazing Grace along, but now pictures available.

Well, NOW I'm kinda pretty proud of myself ! I finally got some photos taken and posted here in there files. You can see the date they have been added to see whats new. But a "warning", it's the same new pictures in Opal and socks .

I've been making lots of new paterns, I just have to get them down on the pc, and that takes time nowadays.... There has been lots of problems with both my pc's but I hope it's all ok now.

If you want to see what's on the needles right now, pictures are here, first a new sock on it's way, with afterthought heel I think.

Then I've just started a new pair of socks and I think these are going to have a "twist" on them....

I'm totally p..... o.. ! I'm so angry at myself !!! I had translated patterns and was so pleased, suddenly I heard "boff" and "pling", and my computer went dead....not for long...but did I save my dokuments while I was writing? Am I an idiot or am I an idiot ????

So now I'm back to scratch.

But I am knitting and making new patterns, sock patterns in Opal. For now in norwegian, but I think they'll come in english too. They haven't been published yet, thinking about making a calendar... We'll see.

Yes, I'm still here, I'm actually extremely occupied these days, knitting and creating new patterns every day, and still knitting with all the alongs I've joined. Life feels kinda unreal

But here is a picture of my new knit : a child's sweater. If you look at the DPN's you'll see how I take off my knitting, my needles and myself when putting my knitting in a bag

It's actually great ! I make them myself and they sell very good :-)

Yes, well, I'm hooked....
Now I'm making sock patterns.
And I'm kinda crazy, 'cause I can't just make one pair at a time....
Nope, 4 on the needles, and 4 on the planning station .
So, YES ! I'm hooked.

Oh, my goodness ! I've added my first pattern in my pattern seksjon. This first one is of a Lacy Hat. I had good help from AJ, a new "net-friend" Thanks :-)

I have some pictures to share with you know!!!
There is now an album with the knives we have made, my husband and I. We have made more, but they are given to friends. This is a hobby my husband really loves doing. He is making a workshop in our outhouse where he can do this whenever he wishes. It'll be great. It'll be a room of about 40 m2, so I can also have my looms out there and all my weaving equipment. I'm planning to set up my looms with different stuff and let friends, and those who wish, weave here.

There is also an album where you can see my knitting rooms and some of my stuff.

My last Glad Raggs got finished on Sunday and you'll see them here.

I'm back in town, for a while! 

We came home from Egypt last night and am leaving for our cabin in the mountains in a couple of hours.
But I had to tell you guys about my trip to Egypt.  We had a great time.
Most Egyptians were great and welcomed us in every way. I had my husband, daughter, her husband and their little son (15 months) with me. They loved Andreas, and tried everything to make him smile, and the last days he picked out some of them who he offered a smile !!! I actually had a bath in The Red Sea !!
Allthough I had a great time, it was frusrating to go to the markets to buy anything. I just couldn't handle all the bargaining and fuss, I get so confused now. Before I had the stroke I would have loved it and they would have lost ervery bargaining with me !!! So I mostly had to stay near the hotell. We didn't buy more than a couple things. Unfortunately my son-in-law got food-poisoned one of the last days, and had to have a doctor on our last day. But he's better now.

Knitting....hm.....was I supposed to be knitting.....well, I didn't. The wind was aweful and it blew up the sand all the time. So the few times I got my knitting up it became so full of sand that I gave up trying ! Managed to get one sock finished, that's all ! Another reason was that there were no good chairs to sit in. I have never been a place where it was SO difficult to sit down and relax. All there was to sit on was sun-chairs or "eating-chairs". But now I'm going to our cabin, and I'm gonna sit down in my rocking-chair and knit, knit, knit, knit, knit...

Soooooo.......BYE !!!   I'm off to the mountains! See you next week !!!

I AM HOOKED ! HOOKED ON SOCKS !!!

I have joined some sock-groups om the internet the last weeks, and there are so many lovely patterns and books ! Eh....I think my bankaccount needs some solid cash soon. Someone suggested I could sell some of my socks...SELL??? MY socks? Are they crazy???

Well, now I'm trying something new! I've made an "english" blog! Let's see if it works..... Let me know if you find things that don't work, or if you feel there are things that could be better. Let me know and I'll see if I'll listen..
