Shawl knitted in lambswool !
Shawl knitted in lambswool.
Yarn : Røros lammeull from
Raumagarn
Needles : 3 1/2
Gauge : 50 g = ca. 250 m
ca. 20 m = 10 cm
The shawl is knitted in garter-stitch.
Cast on 5 stitches.
1. Row : Knit 2. Row : K1, YO, K1, YO, K1, YO, K1, YO, K1.
Continue to k
nit row 1 and 2.
That is : Increase on every 2. row : YO after the 1. stitch, YO before and after
the ”middle-stitch” , and YO before the last stitch.
You can knit the whole shawl like this, in garter-stitch, or you can add an easy lace-pattern in this way :
Knit f.ex. 15 cm with row 1 and 2, then add a lace-row between the YO’s: K1, YO, * K2 tog, YO *, rep until you come to the middle-stitches, YO, K1, YO, *K2tog, YO *, rep until you come to the last stitch, K1.
Then knit f.ex.10 cm with row 1 and 2 again, and then a new row with lace.
Repeat the lace pattern whenever you wish. You can vary this as you please. You can have as many or few garterstitch-rows as you want !
When you see that the shawl has the size that you want, you can cast off. That’s why this pattern also is good to use for children.
I usually finish the shawl with a crochet edge : f.ex. : Crochet Picot-stitches : * ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from needle, jump over 2 *,
and repeat from * to * all the way round the shawl. Or use the edge you like best.
