09:30 Meet & greet your English speaking professional guide of the day and depart by private deluxe coach. Morning visit at the famous Gallery Veksölund
, a former farming estate and today the largest gallery of modern sculpture in Denmark. The curator, Mr. Jörgen Hansen, will welcome us personally. Veksölund has become the natural place for exhibition of some of the best works of Danish and other Scandinavian sculptures, and this is especially true for monumental sculpture. In the park and garden at Veksölund huge and unique sculptures are to be experienced in an optimal exhibition space. The background for these great sculptures are the local Medieval church. Sculptures of a lesser size are also exhibited here, and as a whole Veksölund offers a varied insight into the many styles of sculpture being produced today.
Continue via the remote landscapes and forest to small village Ganlöse for pit-stop a shore of the local village pond. From Ganlöse via the beautiful green and typical North Sealand landscapes with soft hills, lakes, forest and open landscapes ever changing to market town Slangerup. Visit the Sct. Michaels Cathedral – the earliest Renaissance building in Scandinavia. By foot from the Cathedral to the local inn, "Slangerup Gjästgivergaard", for an elegant Thai lunch - alternatively a Scandinavian gourmét lunch at "Café Frex".
From Slangerup we continue via the longest "mountain" in Denmark – Strö Bjerge – a 22 km long row of rounded green hills. Drive along the shore of Lake Esrum Sö and en route passing the ruins of one of the many Medieval fortresses, Gurre, to Elsinore and the Hamlet Castle, Kronborg! – Guided tour of the castle included a special lecture about Nordic Histroy, Heritage and Culture. Kronborg is listed by UNESCO at the World Heritage List. After visiting the castle, the guide will take us at stroll through the renaissance part of city of Elsinore included short visit at Medieval Sct. Mariae Monastery. Before entering the coach, the guide and the driver will serve a small refresment.
From Elsinore drive South along the shore of the Sound with great views to the Swedish coast to Humlebäk and the World famous Louisiana – Museum for Contemporary Art & Design. The guide will take us on a special tour of the museum and park and will focus the permanent exhibitions and the architecture of the buildings.
Drive back to Copenhagen via the Danish Riviera, Strandvejen” and arrive approximately 19:30.
